The Kanis Family...Celebrating Cavin!

Dan, Wyatt and I spent Saturday afternoon with the Kanis family celebrating Cavin's 5th birthday.  Kara and I have been the best of friends for the past 14 years and Wyatt and Cavin were born 6 weeks apart.  Though our families don't get together as often as we like it's as if time stood still when we do see one another.  At the end of the night Cavin told Wyatt that he's his best friend (and the two haven't seen one another for over a year).  And we can't forget about Lauren- if I had a daughter, I'd like her to be exactly like her.

I love this picture (Wyatt, Cavin and Lauren).  As you know Wyatt rarely smiles for the camera...

Monster Truck Jam!

He sat like this for at least two of the the almost three hours we were there.

So serious...

Batman

Batman vs Captain America

Maximum Destruction (Wyatt's favorite).  He didn't fair too well.

Pretty happy boy for 10:00!

Grave Digger sword and cup.  That darn cup, filled with a snow cone, was $15!

Reindeer Run

Wyatt is like the Energizer Bunny, he keeps going and going and going.  It's constant around our house and I know we were warned when we had a boy but I think he's an exception.  He loves to run and for a 4yr old (almost 5) the kid is fast.  I thought it would be a good idea to introduce him to running.  We've been "training" the last couple of weeks to get him ready for the Kid's 1/2 mile run at the Reindeer Run this year.  He was excited the night before but anxiety kicked in when he realized the amount of people that were there.  Running fast or not I'm so proud of him.  We held hands the entire run and he crossed the finish line, that's all that matters.  Maybe next year we'll all be running the actual 5k.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ironically we celebrated Thanksgiving at my mom and dad's house with the Defries/Montgomery clan but I didn't take one picture of my family.  This is Pat's Christmas card photo so that's why this was taken.  I feel really bad that my mom, dad and Scott aren't included.  Anyway, it was a perfect day celebrating the many reasons why we are thankful....so many!

Home Depot Kid's Workshop-November

Dan and Wyatt really enjoy the first Saturday of every month at Home Depot.  They do a great job executing the kid's workshop.  Wyatt got to make a turkey shaped napkin holder for Thanksgiving.

Halloween

Halloween this year was a lot of fun.  Wyatt is at that age where he "gets it" and loved running door to door. I was proud of him and Luca, they said THANK YOU on their own.

50th and France- Pumpkin Festival

We took Wyatt trick-or-treating at 50th and France on Saturday.  It was a chilly morning so we sported the fleece over his IRON MAN costume.  It looked like he was wearing a pair of red printed Zubaz :)  Scott, Amy and Kennedy joined us- we had a good time.

Break time at 10:30- why not a piece of candy...

Kennedy the ladybug- ADORABLE!

Dinner with a Bestie!

Koren and I had dinner at Cafe Maude on Saturday night.  It was a perfect night catching up and laughing while drinking wine and having the best squash bisque- yummy!

First ER Visit...

Wyatt was at a playground with his daycare and fell off monkey bar type curved ladders at a park.  He survived, and so did his mom!  6 stitches above his right eye is all :)  He's doing great and his cut looks to be healing very well.  For how much this little man fears the Dr. (any Dr.) I'm surprised and very proud of how well he behaved.  I think he had an out of body experience- seriously!

Waiting patiently...

Waiting patiently again but at least we're in a room now...

Bandage off, cleaning and numbing of the cut comes next.  Not fun!

Clean and numbed...stitches next.

My little trooper!

6 blue stitches and a blue ICEE- things aren't too bad!

Iron Girl

I accomplished my first ever event (not even a 5k here!).  It was a fun morning spent with my co-workers, mother in-law and sister in-law.  I finished in 2 hours and 45 minutes- not too bad for a hybrid bike and virgin running legs.  I'll be back next year!  Thanks to all that came to support us- it was greatly appreciated.
