A Day in the Life of an Elf

My mom and I took Wyatt to see the Macy's 8th floor. He did great and really enjoyed watching all the elves. It was a fun day off with my mom and Wyatt.
Watching the cars and buses from the skyway- pretty cool for a 3yr old.

Wyatt's new Hot Wheel's track

On the mantel behind Mana Pat and Wyatt is a tiny little jukebox.  Wyatt loves to push the button and listen to the music.

Christmas Eve with the Suess Family

Wyatt's new Batmobile from Uncle Scott

Wyatt had to test of his new shovel from Papa- at 8:00pm, outside, with just shoes on....you can't even see his shoes because they are covered in snow.  Bad mom!

After we unwrap all the gifts there is always so  much paper and packaging to dispose of.  There's no better way to get rid of it except a fire!  The pyro in me LOVES this part of the night :)  LtoR:  Scott, Dan, Mom, Wyatt and Dad.

I love my family!

Feeding the Reindeer

Back in November we made reindeer food at Bachmans- the little man never forgot.  We had to sprinkle it in the yard the night before Christmas Eve- when Santa was arriving at the Defries household.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Wyatt!

Dan and I cannot believe it's been 3 years since our little guy joined us for a lifetime adventure.  He means the world to both of us and we couldn't imagine a day without him.  Happy Birthday, Bubsy!  We love you so much.

Merry Christmas to you and your families.  Our little winter solstice boy has given us another reason to celebrate the season.  Best wishes for a Happy 2011.

Wyatt's Birthday Get Together

Wyatt celebrated his birthday with family yesterday.  Saturday night he told us that he didn't want a party and all of his presents can go to other kids....we knew it wouldn't take long to knock the sense back into him.  It took until Sunday when we made the rounds to pick up his balloon, pick up his cake and waking up from a really good nap when he got super excited.  We are so grateful for two great families and wonderful cousins who made the evening a blast for our little man.  Wyatt's most memorable gifts was his Buzz Lightyear and a Hot Wheels track from Uncle Scott and Auntie Sara.  Sara let Wyatt open his Hot Wheels track before everyone got there so I got a clip of him playing with it- happy, happy boy!

Uncle Scott getting the multiple twist ties off Buzz.  This sucker was childproof! Cousin Aidan told Wyatt that he got the same Buzz when he turned 3- he's now 5.  Yep, Wyatt would be yawning already.

Christmas Baking with Mom/Mana Diane!

Wyatt and I made the trek to Northfield to do some baking with my mom on Sunday.  Wyatt watched Polar Express with Papa Suess and even helped him snowblow the driveway after the plow came through.  Uncle Scott and Auntie Sara made the trek as well.  It was a fun day.

Storm of the Season!

16-18 inches of snow fell Friday through all day Saturday in Minneapolis.  Dan went out for 3 rounds of shoveling throughout the day not really knowing where to put it all.  We were looking forward to taking Wyatt to Disney on Ice Saturday night at the Xcel in St. Paul but decided it was best to just stay home.  Luckily he understood that Mickey and Minnie got stuck in a snow storm and couldn't make it :)
Maybe we need to look into purchasing a snowblower!

Dan and I were out shoveling the side of the house when all of a sudden there was Wyatt.  He went and got a washcloth to wipe the condensation from the window so he could see out.  So clever!
