Belated Birthday Celebration With The Nelson Family

We had the honor of having Andy, Koren, Zach and Molly Nelson over for dinner to celebrate Wyatt's birthday tonight.  Though it was a quick little get together we sure enjoyed their company.

It's time to go sledding!

It's been Christmas Day tradition to go sledding at Old Main hill at St. Olaf College.  Dan's parents live not even a block away so we are fortunate to just walk over.

Christmas Eve with the Suess Family

We woke up Christmas Eve morning at my parent's house to 12" or more snow.  Wyatt helped Papa blow out the driveway and sidewalks.  Yes, I know he has no mittens on- he insisted!

The best part about the snow fall was watching the snow plow come up the court.  Wyatt was glued to the window.

I missed it but Wyatt just gave Uncle Scott a big smooch.

The snow was so pretty and the weather was beautiful Christmas Eve night.  After opening gifts we went out to my parent's patio and started a fire.

I'm TWO today!

Wyatt, you are the dearest most sweetest thing that has ever happened to us.  Thank you for making your mommy and daddy smile each and everyday.  We are so blessed to have you as our son.  We love you more than you will ever know.  Happy Birthday!!!

A little side note- Wyatt had his 2 year appt today (12/29) and he's a healthy little boy.  He has only gained a pound since his 18 month appt. but I guess that's normal since the little guy is so darn active.  Here are the stats of our long and lean Wyatt.

Weight:  25.8 lbs (21 percentile)

Height:  35.3 inches (72 percentile)

Happy Birthday, Wyatt!

Today we celebrated Wyatt's birthday with our families, it was a great day!  Wyatt picked out firetrucks for his theme this year so we went with it.  He is definitley all boy and enjoyed getting a school bus, basketball hoop, circular saw and chainsaw to name a few. 

This is the first time we have ever had Wyatt blow out a candle.  He was an old pro.  Dan had to light the candle over and over and over again.

When Wyatt gets tired or is in a comfortable state he'll have his Tootie (Nuk) and he'll play with his hair.  Micah, Wyatt's cousin, was laughing because Wyatt started to play with his hair as well.  The best of both worlds!

Choo Choo!

Recently Wyatt has been wanting me to read a book to him the minute he wakes up.  This morning I was running a little behind so I only had time for one book and Dad wouldn't suffice.  He got a little mad when I told him that we only could read one.  He then proceeded to line the books up in the bathroom as I was drying my hair.  I think he had the mindset of "'I'll show you!"  After they were all lined up he started to push the last book and said, "Choo-Choo!"  I love 2 year old imaginations.

Grandma Bell Turns 90!

I hope I will be able to enjoy 90 years of life.  My Grandma turns 90 tomorrow (Dec. 8th) but her children (my mother) held an Open House in honor of her yesterday.  It was such a nice afternoon and I was thrilled with how many relatives and friends came to visit her.  I love my grandma so much and it was an honor to see her so happy.  Happy Birthday, Grandma!

I think this picture is hilarious.  Wyatt wouldn't move and thought it was so funny he was in the picture.  He's saying "Cheese!"

Not the best picture of Wyatt and my dad but this is a rare photo of my parents with their three grandchildren:  Wyatt, Gus and Ruby (Tim's children).  Wyatt was going on no nap so posing for pictures wasn't going to happen without a fight.

My grandpa died when he was 62 (too young!) and I was only 8 years old.  I have vivid memories with him and miss him so much.  This is my grandpa's brother "Sparky."  He lived a block away from my grandparents and I always remember riding our bikes over to his house for candy.  He looks exactly how I remember my grandpa and I was so excited to see him yesterday.  I was also very excited to see my Uncle Greg (mom's brother) who flew in from San Antonio for the festivities.

Underwater Adventures

Dan gets the privilege to stay home with Wyatt on Thursday and Fridays.  Fridays are their field trip days.  Today they went to the Mall of America to Underwater Adventures.  It was the first time for both of them and they had to go through twice.  Wyatt really enjoyed it.  Dan even took pictures!
