Week 5!

We are so proud of our little guy- he's graduated through all types of floatation devices and is swimming on his own with some assistance.  We love what you have done with Wyatt, Miss Jenni!

Our Neighborhood's First Annual Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood had its inaugural easter egg hunt this past weekend.  Approximately 9 houses participated hiding eggs in their front yard ready for the kiddos to come find them.  It was a bit chilly but didn't stop anyone from having a good time.  We then met back at Mike and Stacy's house for brunch- thanks for hosting!

The Armatage Neighbors!

Letting the little ones get their chance before these four go back to the hunt.

Wyatt was so excited opening his eggs down by the fire.

Happy 5th Birthday, Zach!

Wyatt was invited to Zach Nelson's 5th birthday party at Rainbow Play Systems last Saturday.  The kids had a great time tearing up the place and they exerted a ton of energy.   We have told Wyatt that when he turns 5 he gets to have his first birthday party with friends wherever he wants- I think after this he has already decided :)

Happy Birthday, Zach!

Marshall, MN Road Trip

Dan's grandma was hospitalized last week after suffering a heart attack.  After Wyatt's dentist appt we headed out of town for a quick visit to see Great Grandma Kay.  Good news is that she's home now (as I type this) and is doing great.  We were planning to drive back to Minneapolis that evening but it got too late and Dan's Uncle (Rod) and Aunt (Jane) invited us to stay the night.  Thank you for the hospitality!

Rod and Jane moved into a new house last fall so Rodney recreated his Coca Cola room and Wyatt fell in love with the pin ball machine.  He got a hang of it pretty quickly.

The Dentist!

It all started a year ago attempting to bring Wyatt to the dentist.  I tried twice and finally I told Dan that it was his turn and he could deal with it.  Low and behold he was a complete gem and didn't put up a fuss at all.  When Dan sent me the below photo I was afraid to open it for fear that it was a picture of Wyatt crouched down in the corner screaming his head off fearing for his life.  Much to my surprise he was this perfect little angel sitting in the dental chair with his mouth wide open.  Who would have thought!

Swimming Lessons

Wyatt started swimming lessons at Foss Swim School last night.  When Ipicked him up from daycare he had just took a digger down a hill and scraped his knee really bad along with the top of both feet.  He immediately told me that he couldn't go to swimming- so typical!  I commend the instructors at Foss- they are unbelieveable!  Wyatt sat with his feet in the water and was engaged for the entire half hour.  His feet did okay but it did sting his knee once it got wet but I didn't care I was just so impressed with his engagement.  Momma just sat back and watched!   Terrible cell phone photos- more to come next week.

Week 3- LOVING THE WATER!  Before his lesson he decided to run and do a cannon ball.  Thank goodness his instructor, Jenni, was in the water to grab him.  Again, my child has no fear and scared the living daylights out of me.

Week 3- Kicking Away!
Week 4- Noodle Time!
Week 4- Practicing the use of goggles.  Wasn't too fond!  But he graduated from using a dumb bell float to a noodle.  Yay, Wyatt!
Week 4-Practicing the back float- a struggle for him.
Week 4-And down he goes!

Sledding...

It was a perfect day to go sledding yesterday so we tried a new hill.  The hill may have been a little steep for an average 4 year old but with a 4 year old that has no fear- this was perfect!  At the bottom of the hill was Minnehaha Creek...thank goodness Wyatt discovered it after we were done sledding.

Dan and Wyatt getting ready...

Notice the cracked ice and the flowing water to the right- this was making me very nervous!  Dan reassured me that they were safe.  MAJOR ANXIETY!

Who is having more fun?

Snow Angels!

Kid's Workshop @ Home Depot

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot hosts a kid's workshop.  Dan took Wyatt a few months ago and it finally worked out to go this weekend especially since it meant building a wooden race car.  Dan more or less did all the work but he still enjoyed helping out.

Transformers!

It's so fun to watch your children play independently.  I was surprised that Wyatt let me just sit back and watch him as he had a battle going on between Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.  "Momma, in the end, Optimus Prime always wins because he is the leader of the Autobots."  Okay- enough said.

Dan's Handy Work

I'm glad I married someone who thinks outside the box and has talent and creativity.  After Dan brought Wyatt to the Monster Truck Jam in January and Wyatt was making ramps out of anything he could get his hands on- Dan thought it would be a good idea to make one.  One trip from Home Depot later Dan had all the material for his soon to be Monster Truck Ramp.  I searched my go to website- www.etsy.com and searched for monster truck decals and found amazing things from Deco MOD Wall.  Within a few days I had the decals and Wyatt was so excited to see monster trucks in his favorite color:  orange.
