Another Day at the Beach!

Since summer is coming to a close we wanted to enjoy one last hot summer day at the beach.  Though it was windy, it was another great day and Wyatt enjoyed every last minute of the water.  We all had an afternoon frozen treat- Sponge Bob Square Pants frozen delight.  Wyatt's photo below- enough said.  I'm sure the black and red dye that we all ingested is really good for you!

Who's Ready for Big Boy Underwear....This Guy!

For a few months now Wyatt would tell you voluntarily that he has to go potty and it's a success on the big toilet.  His reward- 2 num-nums (M&Ms) for #1 and 4 for #2.  However, he has never wanted to put his big boy underwear on until last night.  He was all about it and even went #2 voluntarily on the toilet.  It was a great night!  This is just the prelude until Labor Day weekend where it's going to be Potty Training Boot Camp at the Defries' house.  I'm determined to accomplish a huge task that weekend.  A little incentive for Wyatt is that he gets his big boy bed when this is all said and done. Wish us luck!

Summer Night Out with the Ladies!

Caroline, a friend I met through Koren, moved to NYC this winter.  She was back for a wedding and staying with Koren.  A few of us went out Saturday night to enjoy the beautiful summer evening out on a patio- which just happened to be at Sauce again :)  It was a perfect night with perfect friends.

Perfect Day for the Park!

Play Doh Morning

Wyatt loves to play with Play Doh as much as he likes to build towers- so we did both.  This was as high as we could get it before it fell down.  He thought it was so cool!

Bryant Lake Beach

There was no better way to spend a 97 degree day but in water!  We headed to Bryant Lake Park Sunday to escape the heat.  Wyatt couldn't understand that there was sand on a beach in Minnesota- he was thrilled that he could sit at the water's edge and not get struck by a wave and a splash of salt water.  He was in his element- and so were mom and dad.

National Night Out 2010

I took matters into my own hands this year and organized our block's National Night Out.  Not knowing what to expect it turned out to be a great night with a 50% capture rate.  A firetruck was requested, but not guaranteed- we were still hopeful.  The crowd was thinning out and the kids started to get tired when all of a sudden the big, red, ladder filled vehicle arrived.  Wyatt was so excited he couldn't keep himself composed but kept his distance once it got closer.  I love our neighborhood- it's filled with such wonderful people; young and old.
The Ryans (Noah, Jeff, Hannah and Kristi)- our next door neighbors

Some of the kids enjoying the freedom of riding their bikes or running in the street.  Wyatt is still talking about it!

The Grill Master!

Crabbie

Wyatt has always enjoyed playing with his trucks in the sand and ever since we've been back from Florida he can't get enough.  We went back and forth trying to figure out what to do about a sandbox- does Dan build one or do we buy plastic?  Well, we fell for the cute Step 2 Crabbie Sandbox.  We brought a little Florida home with us :)  Now the key is keeping the sand INSIDE the sandbox.

Nice little buzz cut, huh?

Jemma's 9th Birthday Party

We celebrated our niece's 9th birthday last weekend with the family.  I can't believe she's already 9 and almost taller than me- well, it'll be a few years but there will be a day when she is taller than me...just wait.

Heading back home...

Uncle Rod and Aunt Jane were kind enough to let all of us stay at their house in Marshall, MN after the reunion yesterday.  Before we took off this morning we tried for a successful picture of the kids, but it wasn't happening very smoothly.  This is the best we could get.
Jemma, Micah, Wyatt and Aidan

This is when we said, "let's go!"  No nap yesterday, late to bed and early to rise this morning = meltdown!

We celebrated our 12th anniversary at The Country Drive In in Winthrop, MN for lunch today -lol!  We had a good time and the food, although unhealthy, was great!

While waiting for our food, Wyatt enjoyed playing with his new tractors.

Wyatt's souvenirs from his first trip to Mana Pat's old stompin' grounds :) - southwestern, MN.

Thanks to everyone involved in planning the Olson Family Reunion, it was a great day.
