Heading back home...

Uncle Rod and Aunt Jane were kind enough to let all of us stay at their house in Marshall, MN after the reunion yesterday.  Before we took off this morning we tried for a successful picture of the kids, but it wasn't happening very smoothly.  This is the best we could get.
Jemma, Micah, Wyatt and Aidan

This is when we said, "let's go!"  No nap yesterday, late to bed and early to rise this morning = meltdown!

We celebrated our 12th anniversary at The Country Drive In in Winthrop, MN for lunch today -lol!  We had a good time and the food, although unhealthy, was great!

While waiting for our food, Wyatt enjoyed playing with his new tractors.

Wyatt's souvenirs from his first trip to Mana Pat's old stompin' grounds :) - southwestern, MN.

Thanks to everyone involved in planning the Olson Family Reunion, it was a great day.

2010 Olson Family Reunion

This weekend we headed to southwestern MN to Balaton for a family reunion.  It was held on a farm of Pat's cousin, Stan.  Wyatt being the city boy that he is- this was going to be his first time at a "real" farm.  He was really excited and had a fun day playing with his cousins and new extended cousins that he just met.
This is the first thing Wyatt saw when we pulled into the driveway- a huge pile of gravel surrounded by dump trucks and shovels.  What more could a boy ask for.  We never had to worry about where any of the boys were.

And it gets even better when you have a John Deere tractor to play with.

Calling all sheep! (Garrett, Wyatt, Lucas, Jemma, Aidan)

Looking like a natural.

Wyatt needed to check out all the old tractors.  He had an opportunity to ride a brand new tractor but got scared.  He's all about looking at "big" things from a distance.  They ran that new tractor for almost 3 hours so all the kids to get a ride.  Maybe next year.

Dan getting tackled by Wyatt, Aidan and Jemma.  As you can see, we were mandated to wear red.

Girls Night Out- July

This month we went to Crave at The West End- who doesn't LOVE crave, especially when you're with a bunch of your girlfriends.  It was a great evening and thanks to Kristi for all the fun little extras.

Armatage Summer Festival 2010

Every year our neighborhood has a wonferful Summer Festival- this year I volunteered at the Obstacle Course.  Wyatt, Luca and Debbie joined me after my shift to enjoy the festivities.  It was a fun night.
Enjoying the Moon Walk or as we know it the Bounce House.

Patiently waiting for his turn at the Sucker Pull.  He was so excited to put his ticket in the bucket.

Got his sucker, now being the onlooker.

Armatageous.

Wyatt and Luca listening to Armatageous play YMCA.  Confused by the arm movements.

Time for some Sebastian Joe's ice cream- Raspberry Chocolate Chip.  This was his first ice cream cone- he did pretty good until mom had to finish it off :)

Wyatt picked a weiner dog, "Like Johnny!"

Wyatt Stung!

After a long, funfilled weekend of not being home, we came back to a yard that needed to be mowed.  Of course tired from all the festivities I told Dan that Wyatt and I would mow.  For those of you that know me- I LOVE to mow but rarely get the chance.  With Wyatt wide awake because we said "mow" he wasn't about to go down for a nap.  We thought it would be early to bed tonight for this little man.  So, we finish mowing and are going to kick the ball around for awhile until Wyatt started to scream like I've never heard him scream before.  He was just stung by a wasp/hornet just under the nail of his middle finger.  We ran it under cold water forever after removing the stinger and treated it as we were informed.  This is a photo of Wyatt, still traumatized, falling asleep by daddy at 6:30 last night.  He slept until 7:30 this morning.  What a way to end the weekend, huh?

Valleyfair

Dan's company outing this summer was at Valleyfair.  Going Sunday after my brother's party was quite a challenge.  Wyatt going to bed much later than normal the night before and probably not getting a nap in, it was going to make for a very interesting day.   He was such a trooper.  He was more interested in looking at all the rides and very content in his stroller, which is very odd for him.  We had a great day.

Scott's 40th Birthday Party

July is a busy month for the Suess and Defries families.  Between the two, half of the birthdays fall in July.  We had a 40th birthday party at my parent's house for Scott, which was actually my dad's birthday.  I can understand how Wyatt was so confused this weekend.  Happy Birthday to my dad, Scott and Sara!  It was a great party.

Florida Vacation

Wyatt and I went to Florida to spend time with my mom and dad.  Unfortunately Dan had to stay home and work but we all promised to be together in Florida next year.  It was quite a few firsts for Wyatt:  first flight, first out of state visit: Florida, first time to see the ocean.  I was bummed that Dan couldn't be there but he insisted that we still go.  We had a great time and Wyatt loved Florida- even though it was brutally hot and humid most days.
A little treat at the airport:  McDonalds pancakes and OJ.  Wyatt thought that was so cool.

He couldn't believe he was so close to the "Big, big airplane."

This is how it should be on all flights.

Swimming with Mana and Papa Suess.  He had no fear whatsoever.

"Happy Birthday USA!"

Watching the big boys play football.

Missing daddy.

This is a rare photo of Wyatt with a hat on.  It only took hot and humid weather and a strong sun to convince him that a hat is a really good idea.

"Catch me, Mommy!"

Wyatt was a hit all week with his infectious laugh and humorous personality.  Anyone, and I mean anyone, that he made eye contact with at the pool he'd say to them, "Watch me?"  We couldn't get him out of the pool fast enough before he was jumping back in.  He also loves to float on his back- I think we have a little swimmer on our hands.
