Quality Time with Uncle Scott

Wyatt spent some quality time with Papa and Mana Suess last week..  I went down to Northfield Friday after work and enjoyed an evening out with my big brother, Scott.  We had a lot of fun.  Wyatt enjoyed his company too- as always! 

Water Boy!

Summer cannot come soon enough so we can get Wyatt in the water.  He gets away with murder at his Papa and Mana Suess's house.  Here he is enjoying the faucet in the kitchen sink- soaking wet!

Our Little Scholar

As I've mentioned before Wyatt LOVES to read his books.  Half dressed, this is how I found him Saturday morning in his room.  He was so content he didn't even notice me taking photos of him at first.

No Fear!

Bath night is always fun for Wyatt since he's a natural in the water.  His new thing is to put all his trucks in the tub with him and put them under the running water as he sings, "Workin' in the carwash!"  Literally.  But on Sunday he took bath night to the next level.  This is the first time that he lay down on his back, immerse both ears in the water and float.  He says to me, "Look Mommy- swimming."  It really just shocked me that he was laying there with water in his ears, in his nose and in his eyes.  Occasionally he's go completely under and just sit up and start laughing.  Great that he isn't afraid of water but not so great that he has no fear!  Wyatt is definitely two and loves to test his mother and father on a daily basis but I wouldn't change it for the world.  The picture below he's actually saying "cheese."

Happy Valentines Day!  Our little guy has been battling quite the cold/cough/runny nose this past week so we elected to stay put this weekend and take it easy.  Last week Wyatt brought cupcakes to school so he helped me decorate them.  He's becoming quite the Sous Chef in the kitchen and loves to say "Shoe Chef."

Superbowl Party/Mana Pat's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Mana Pat's birthday along with the Superbowl yesterday.  Wyatt loves hanging out with his cousins (The Montgomery clan).  Wyatt and Micah are 7 months apart and they are now just starting to become chummy with one another- it's fun to watch.  Kevin's brother, Bruce, just moved up here from West Palm Beach, FL so it was fun to see him again.  I think the last time we saw Bruce was 6+ years ago.

Reading Time

Reading books to Wyatt has been very important to me even before he made his way into this world and I think it shows.  We read books ALL the time but over the past couple of weeks I've noticed Wyatt reading books by himself out loud that mimics what that particular book is about.  Hopefully he won't grow out of the moments we get to share on the chair reading books together.

...and then all of a sudden his clock radio came on with Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" playing and he got up so quickly to start dancing.  That's our toddler!  And of course it took me several minutes to undo the alarm settings Wyatt so joyfully implemented. 

Outside = Fun!

Wyatt would spend all day outside if he could.  We still have an issue with him wearing mittens. The funny thing is he'll be outside for a good half hour and we'll check his hands periodically to make sure they are warm enough and more often than not his hands are warmer than ours are with mittens on.  Luckily his coat hangs over his hands to keep them somewhat protected. 

Edinborough Park

Tonight we spent the evening at Edinborough Park in Edina.  We have never been there before- for some reason I thought Wyatt was too small.  Was I wrong!  Wyatt and I went with our friends/neighbors, Debbie and Luca.  The boys had a blast and we'll be going back very soon.  It was well worth the $6 admission fee!

Go Vikings!

Rained In!

We spent Saturday indoors due to the wonderful rain that wouldn't stop.  But it was all in good fun with a lot of laughs.  Dan and I say this all the time but we're so blessed to have Wyatt in our life- he is constantly putting smiles on our face.

Eggs...finally!

Wyatt's preferred breakfast is either Papa's pancakes (the first time he ever had pancakes was with my dad so they will forever be called as such), waffles, cereal or toast.  We've offered scrambled eggs to him on numerous occasions but he never wanted anything to do with them.  I asked him if he wanted to try an egg for breakfast and he finally agreed to it.  Now, we have one more option with a little more protein :)

Snow!

Wyatt loves the snow- it's so nice that we're able to get out and play in it now that the weather is above 20 degrees.  Unfortunately, when we get home from work and "school" there isn't a whole lot of time to enjoy the outdoors in daylight.  Wyatt LOVES to shovel and knows when it snows he might get to help daddy, "daddy shovel too" he says.  And if only we can get him to wear his mittens...

Girls Night Out!

My good friend Jenny Boisseau moved to Atlanta almost two years ago.  Her and Cole (their 1-1/2 year old son) decided to join her husband, Chad, for a business trip to Minneapolis.  It was so fun to see her last night.  Four of us got together for many great laughs and good wine at Beaujo's.

Wrestle Mania!

It wouldn't be a normal day in our house without Wyatt getting out the special blanket that acts as his wrestling mat and says, "Daddy wrestle."  The two of them get so silly and Wyatt just loves every minute of it.  I love my boys!

Happy Birthday, Mom/Grandma!

Today we helped my mom celebrate her birthday.  Wyatt couldn't wait to get home from lunch to help his mana (a.k.a. Grandma) blow out her candles.  Since he just had a birthday himself he couldn't stop saying Happy Birthday and wanted to blow out the candles again and again and again.  Mom, sorry that your age is revealed on the cake- you don't look a day over 30 :)

We celebrated New Years in Northfield with my family and the Smith family from Kansas stopped by for a visit.  It's always great to see Jenny and crew but we missed Hunter and Evan.  Happy New Year!
